Collegiate School

EYFS

The best possible start

Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage, where our aim is to ensure that every child is happy, safe and eager to learn.

Thanks to our small classes and skilled staff, we have the time to nurture each child as an individual, ensuring that they begin their school journey with all they need to develop confidence, independence and a life-long love of learning.

Our bright and airy EYFS building and outdoor play areas have been purpose-built to offer children the space and inspiration to flourish. Whether they’re climbing, balancing or swinging on our outdoor apparatus, digging, mixing and concocting in the mud kitchen, building, testing and evaluating in the construction zones or mark-making, role-playing and creating in the writing and expressive arts areas, we can guarantee that your child will be busy developing their skills as active learners.

And that’s just a part of it!

Aside from daily phonics and maths sessions, your child will benefit from weekly Forest School sessions, music sessions and PE sessions, all led by subject specialists. They’ll also receive tennis lessons in the summer, and Reception children have weekly swimming lessons from January onwards. They’ll have a weekly session with our school librarian and access to our dedicated EYFS library. They’ll take part in Prep School assemblies, celebrations and enrichment days such as World Book Day, Culture Day, Sports Day and European Day of Languages. They’ll even have the chance to perform in a purpose-built theatre! And did we mention the trips?

And if you’re wondering whether there’s time to eat, EYFS children eat a two-course lunch in our own dedicated dining room and are also provided with morning and afternoon snacks of breadsticks, fresh fruit and milk.

Visit us in person at one of our regular Toddler Mornings, at an Open Morning or on a personal tour to discover how Collegiate’s EYFS will give your child the best possible start.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.
